Blur frontman’s show with Africa Categorical at Roskilde in Denmark lasted till 4am, and was only stopped once ‘Huge Dave’ intervened
Damon Albarn’s appearance at Roskilde music pageant on four July ended with an intervention, when the Blur frontman refused to go away the stage throughout a five-hour set.
Closing the annual event in Denmark, Albarn and his Africa Categorical collective – which incorporates Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, Seye Adelekan and Songhoy Blues - launched into an epic efficiency that lasted until 4am. The set included covers of Randy Newman and reinterpretations of Gorillaz tunes, and special friends comparable to Graham Coxon and Laura Mvula also stepped in in the course of the five-hour extravaganza.
